Transfer of Major

Currently enrolled Texas A&M University graduate students interested in changing their major to Water Management and Hydrological Science should discuss their wishes with a WMHS program chair or program coodinator and preferably with their current academic advisor.

To be considered for transfer, please submit the following materials electronically to vsilvy@tamu.edu. Please put WMHS in the subject line.

1. A letter to the WMHS Admissions Committee. Include your intention to change majors and a statement of interest. No more than 2 pages.

2. A resume of education and experience.

3. If you wish to enter the Ph.D. program, you must have a letter from a member of the water faculty committing to be your advisor.

Once you have received notification of acceptance to the WMHS graduate program, you then need to complete a Petition to Change Major, Degree, or Department, available from the Office of Graduate Studies.

The student, the student’s current department head, and the chair of the water faculty must sign this form. Three copies must be submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies.
