Application
A number
of forms, steps and deadlines are required to complete an application
for admission to Texas A&M University and to the graduate program
in Water Management and Hydrological Sciences. Although there is not
a specific order for completing the applications, the following items
must be completed before an application can be considered.

Texas Common
Application
A
formal application is required of all persons seeking admission
or readmission to graduate studies. Texas A&M University now
offers the Texas
Common Application online. This application is required by
all applicants requesting admission to the university and to the
graduate water program.
A
nonrefundable application fee of $50 for U.S. citizens and permanent
residents or $75 for international applicants is required to process
an application for admission. Texas A&M University does offer
fee waivers to U.S. citizens or permanent residents; in such cases,
applicants are to submit a letter from their financial aid advisor
or other knowledgeable officer that verifies the need for a waiver.

Official
Transcripts
Official
transcripts from each senior-level post-secondary institution attended
must be sent to the Office of Admissions and Records at Texas A&M
University. An official statement of the award of the degree or
diploma is required for each degree completed.

Test
Scores
Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores must be sent directly from the Educational
Testing Service to the Office of Admission and Records at Texas A&M
University (Code 6003).

Essay
An essay is not necessary on the Texas Common Application, but it is required
for the WMHS Program. The
essay should be a statement of interest which describes your background
and reasons for pursuing a degree in WMHS. The
essay may be submitted electronically to vsilvy@tamu.edu. Please
put WMHS Application in the subject line of all emails.

Letters
of Recommendation and Letter of Commitment
Use
the Recommendation
Form
to
request three recommendations from individuals who are familiar
with your academic achievement
and potential. If you have been out of school for a number of years
and are unable to contact former professors, you may submit non-academic
references (e.g., employers).
Candidates
applying for the Ph.D. degree must also send a Letter of
Commitment from their designated graduate committee chair.
3.
Upon receipt of your acceptance letter, submit the following.

of Intent
Send a letter of intent to the admissions office and to the Water
Program Office stating you will be attending Texas A&M University.
Contact the Program
Chair or Program
Coordinator to set an appointment for advising.
